Lindsay duncan was excellent, i really enjoyed watching her. I wasnt too keen on Jeremys character, a bit of a bumbling older man, not like his usual role at all but he played it well.
Ooooh I love both Lindsay Duncan and Jeremy Northam! Gosh I miss London theatre......Lindsay was pictured recently with Robin at his place (more useless trivia there....)

The play was Noel Cowards Hay Fever. Lindsay Duncan and Jeremy Northan were the other leads actors. It was very well acted and i enjoyed most of it though im not a great fan of farce! I was sitting on a window ledge or at least that is what it felt like, so was very high up. Some of the funniest moments seemed to be based on awkward silences and facial expressions so of course i couldnt see what the audience was laughing at. That got a bit tedious...
Kevin was excellent and looked quite at home playing posh!
What a pity. To break the ice next time you go to see another of the original actors performing, how about taking a copy of Poldark along then afterwards asking him or her if they would sign it ? Should be an opportunity to chat then I would have thought though make sure you're always last in the queue !

I really wish i had said how much i liked his performance as Drake but i was too nervous! He was very approachable though and had i had chance , i would spoken to him again. Apparantly another woman asked him if he had been in a sitcom in the seventies! He said , no sitcoms but he had been in poldark. I didnt hear this as i would have definitely spoken up then...
it takes about 8 minutes to get to the part i find soooooo moving, Drake (kevin Mcnally) finding out that Morwenna has been widowed, One of the few occasions when i found the tv series more poignant than the book. Kevin Mcnally just expresses Drakes confusion, bitterness, and misery so well.

I would agree that he is one of the best actors in the whole production.I think he did an amazing job of bringing Drake Carne to life and his and Jane Wymarks portrayal of the burgeoning romance between Drake and Morwenna is one of the highlights of the second series for me. I remember reading at the time that they were a couple in real life , i think after meeting on the set of Poldark. One of my fave scenes in the series is when Drake finds out Morwenna has been widowed on the eve of his wedding to Rosina. His despair and heartbreak is painful to witness and i find it intensely moving.
An interesting little snippet from Robin's Making Poldark book - he mentioned that in his opinion Kevin McNally was the best actor in the whole cast of Poldark. I took a look at KMcN's website and have to say it was pretty amazing, impressive to see the extent of his work.

I was surprised to see him The Phantom of the Opera as the unfortunate stage hand who ends up in the phantoms noose after revealing too many secrets. Its ironic that as a youth , he was a delicate sensitive looking boy and yet as he has matured he has turned into a grizzly weather beaten pirate!
I have been wanting to say this for a couple of weeks "Drake Carne is Kevin McNally" !!!!! or Kevin McNally is Drake Carne!!!!" and i think wee Kevin looks like " Ant" from Ant and Dec. He played that part sooooooo well
Just popping in to say that I had quite a chuckle a few days ago when I realized that Drake Carne (Kevin McNally) is Gibbs the able seaman in the Pirates of the Caribbean films.
