Ross I'm glad you raised this as I wasn't sure it was a topic for here. And thanks for the links.
Of course we are all experiencing this terrible pandemic and our hearts break for the losses and grieve for the families left behind.
It's a measure of our humanity that we care so much and I send my condolences to all of those in mourning.
Here in Australia we had the dreadful experience of the northern hemisphere to alert us & we were able to isolate early, thus 'flattening the curve'.
Many are yet to be tested, the criteria is strict & it's only a small % having the test, so our figures may rise.
Limited movement within ones location-essential goods/treatment only, loneliness & anxiety are taking its toll but I believe most are adhering to the regulations for the greater good.
I think of Winston Graham and how compassionate he was & how he gave great examples of noble folk, both high born & low, and of great sacrifices made in the care of others. Winston Graham got it right didn't he, he painted us in a mostly grand light. We of course applaud & respect those who today are carrying the load, sometimes at great cost to themselves.
The morbid sore throat is amongst us again. I hope that we are able to overcome this disease, confine it to the past whilst learning how to prevent its return.
Take care everyone. Even through tears, I have faith in you.
Smollett - thank you for your lovely words - beautifully written. Take care of yourself.

This is the first time I have been onto the site since Lockdown began.
Firstly I send my love and best wishes to you all, circumstances are different for us all, many sacrifices, but all worthwhile to save lives.
We are lucky to have the words of Winston Graham to divert our attention in these hard times. I have not long finished reading 'Stephanie' and thoroughly enjoyed it. My dad is currently living outside of the UK and has just re read 'The Grove of Eagles', so we both have to thank Winston again for his amazing stories. You never know I may even start to re read the wonderful Poldark saga........
