Something we have discussed before, Ross. Also something I would love to hear. The BBC is, or has been, brilliant at radio adaptations over many years. Providing it wasn't messed up and closely followed the books it could be a lovely long series with none of the constraints which are necessarily imposed with a visual version.
Sadly, I do think it will be a long time before it happens, if ever.
I think Poldark would be a natural for radio drama but I wish it had been done years ago so it wouldn't feel the need to be modern. We could listen to re-runs. I'm not sure that radio shows are that popular in Canada, certainly they are with people who grew up with them but I don't how many that would be.
Having had the visual productions, I would find it difficult to enjoy a radio serial but there are many who love to listen to drama on the radio. I think it would be popular.
Now that the TV series is just about over and thinking of "The Archers" radio serial that's been running since 1951 non stop, any thoughts on whether all the Poldark books would be adaptable or not to radio....?
