It's one of a kind - a Ward, Lock file copy that sat untouched on a warehouse shelf for the best part of 80 years - and, unfortunately, rarity costs and extreme rarity costs extremely.

Looked up "Night Journey" to see what it was about and it looks very interesting.  What a price they're asking though!  Maybe I'll get a 5 dollar version.  It was written about the war while the war was happening and I came across this information:  In a 1968 Preface to the book WG writes:  "Written in the darkest days of the war . . . it sold about 700 copies and then the type and sheets were destroyed in an air raid."

Just in case it should be of interest: a copy of Night Journey (1941), Winston Graham's rarest book, complete with dust jacket in very good condition, has gone up for sale on ABE. Though very expensive, it is also something which, in that condition and state of completeness, will probably never appear again in any of our lifetimes. Provided it is well looked after, it will also, once bought, hold its value.
