My dislike of this production has increased with every series. I don't recognise any of the characters. George is a pantomime villain and Ross is a saint. I'm jumping ship now. I can't bear to watch any more.
When I first watched S3 I wasn't wild about it, but I've just re-watched it on DVD and found a lot that I liked, that I'd missed the first time around - maybe because I was looking for similarities to the books, instead of just chilling and enjoying it for what it is. Maybe I was being a bit of a "bookie snob" before? Yes, there were a couple of soppy bits - Tholly and Sam leading the march on George's warehouse was one. And the stupid singing by Cap'n Henshawe's memorial stone. And some of Demelza's dialogue was a bit stilted. But on the whole I felt a lot of the tightening up of the story worked well, I loved the Drake/Morwenna romance, and the two trips to France. I was initially quite cross that they killed off Cap'n Henshawe, but it really worked. And I really liked the pared-down simplicity of the very last scene between Ross and Demelza - so much pain and sadness and love, with minimal dialogue.

Slightly nauseated by the photo of Andrew Graham cuddling Debbie Horsfield today. How much are they paying him? Surely he can't still be impressed by what she's doing...
According to Debbie Horsfield, they have become good friends. They are paying him but who knows how much. It will depend on how often he is called upon to advise DH I assume.
