I believe that Kyle Soller had been knocking it out of the ballpark since the beginning of Series One. Frankly, I thought he was the best performer on the show. It's a pity that fans are now expressing appreciation of his portrayal of Francis . . . especially since the character had became more sympathetic this season. I hate the idea that an actor or actress is only appreciated when his or her character is sympathetic or liked by the fans.

I agree that Kyle Soller's acting has been of high quality throughout the productions. As I haven't posted on every forum I cannot say if this is the first time praise for him has been posted. However, I feel that your somewhat critical tone has rather spoiled my tribute to him now that he has left the production.
You know . . . when I had made that comment about how Kyle Soller was underappreciated when his character was unpopular, I was referring to many of the articles and posts on the Internet that I had come across. Instead, you decided to make it personal. Quite frankly, I felt nothing but disgust when I read your response. And I still do.

Having just saying good-bye to Kyle Soller in this adaptation, I would like state how remarkable his performance was. The transformation of his character during this season could have been incongruous but it wasn't, it was subtle and credible. He manage to take a character that was not very likeable in season one to a beloved character, that was wept over in season two.
I am glad that you have posted this as I think Kyle Soller deserves praise for his acting and, in this case, Debbie Horsfield for her writing.

I like Kyle Stoller's Francis. He plays him as more vulnerable - I felt the first series portrayed him as a bit of a sulky playboy. I could actually feel sorry for him even when he was ranting - sometimes he looked on the brink of tears! His best scene was at his father's graveside, when he says to Ross "Apparently I'm one of the most important men in the county." The line is clever, and he layers so much into it.
Tide was nearly full. Mist lay in a grey scarf along the line of the cliffs. .. and they walked home hand in hand through the slanting shadows of the new darkness.
