I would have loved it too if the dinner scene at Trenwith or (Penrice) with Morwenna and Valentine was included in the series.  I would have loved to see Morwenna stand up to George and for herself and fight for her future and her love Drake.  I truly admire Morwenna for her courage in standing up to Osborne, not letting think that he could come back to her and pretend that nothing had happen between him and her sister.  I also like that she stood up to Lady Whitworth choosing to leave and make her own way in life instead of just becoming an unpaid servant in her house.  In the next scene we would see Morwenna returning to Pally Shop and Drake meets her half way, stop and remembers not to embrace her even if he wants too, but its Morwenna who falls into his arms, knowing now that she is safe with him, yes the moment would be priceless.  I think seeing the excited little Valentine wanting so badly to get his father attention as children are, but then seeing how George rebuffed him so harshly and then seeing the sad hurt look on Valentine face, not understanding why his father is treating him this way.  Yes the viewer would understand even more fully why Elizabeth made such a desperate decision.

As for me I would have loved to have seen Ross and Demelza fall in love in as it happen in the book.  Give us a scene of Demelza in one of Grace Poldark dresses coming to seduce Ross, and of Elizabeth visiting him and realizing that she is to late, Ross has another love in his life.  Maybe there will be scenes of Ross observing Demelza in different situations; her delight is simply things, her warm sense of humor and her practical wisdom, of her working around the house making Nampara a real home.  Yes I would love it if Ross would take Demelza out in the boat with the sun just setting or maybe with a full moon and stars are out, anyway let him then propose to Demelza and declare his love for her then.  Maybe we will get a brief wedding scene and the rivalry with Elizabeth will start with an invitation to Trenwith from Francis.  There Elizabeth will observe Ross admiration and love for Demelza and the jealously will start especially when she witness Demelza success with Francis and Verity, all the attention being focus on Demelza, not Elizabeth.  Well that what I would have loved to have seen in the TV series, maybe that storyline would not have been as exciting as Demelza pregnancy coming between Elizabeth and Ross, but it would have been more realistic.  I dont know what the writers were thinking when they decided to have Ross convince Elizabeth to run away with him and for both of them live together at Nampara.  That storyline was so out of place for the time period, maybe something like could have happened in 1975 but never in the 1780s.  Let little Julia birth be a gift of Demelza and Ross love not their marriage.

Yes I agree Char, I also wish the Clemmow line had been followed, and also the end of the Angry Tide when George turns Morwenna out of the house because she is engaged to Drake. I felt that really was the epitome of his desperation with the question of Valentine's parentage, and would have made Elizabeth's death on-screen even more poignant considering how George had treated her over Morwenna. It would have evoked his guilt more.

Poldark is a long saga and i realise they couldnt have included all the storylines in the tv series but i do wish they had dramatised the Reuben Clemmow and Jinny Carter tale. It would have made great drama, especially the finale where Reuben comes looking for his frying pan.
