An interesting snippet in an original and signed letter from Winston Graham in November 2002 concerning many of his early books and the House of Stratus....

______________

"....I do not know if any publisher would revive these books. A firm called Stratus (Yorkshire with US backing) have just taken a lease on 24 of my earlier books.

But they have been near bankruptcy once so I am waiting events.

With sincere good wishes

Yours ever,

Winston Graham"

No. They're essentially the reprints of the 70's books, with non-series covers.

Hi Bella yes the one in the second picture as I'm trying to identify them all as distinct from Ward Lock, Fontana, Chapmans, Pan McMillan.....

I believe House of Stratus only published 5 Novels: Ross Poldark, The Angry Tide, The Loving Cup, The Stranger from the Sea and The Miller's Dance in 2002.† I have no idea why they chose the first novel and then 4 later ones....however, if anyone knows different then please correct me.

House of Stratus Ross Poldark has not been available for some time on Amazon, but I see there are 4 or 5 available at the moment, and for a good price of† £4 +.† However, make sure you email seller before you purchase just to make sure that it is the House of Stratus publication.

I am delighted with my House of Stratus book, all crisp and clean, and brand new, and with all the original text it seems,†but I am sure†nothing would compare†to holding and reading an original Ross Poldark.†

This is an edit: when searching on Amazon it helps if you enter for example: Poldark Novels, House of Stratus, Hardback etc

If anyone has any further information in any of the Poldark books or anywhere on the Net about "The House of Stratus" or where their books can be bought it would be welcome, as all I can find so far on Google is this address in Kelly Bray, Cornwall with only a Fax. number.

Thanks
