I have just finished reading this novel ( an ex-library copy ) and I really enjoyed it. It kept me wanting to continue reading when I was meant to be doing other things - a good sign in my view. The characters were believable, not all likeable, but not too obviously black & white. I recommend it as a good read.
I read this book on holiday (just back) having picked up a 2nd hand copy and then seen - to my disappointment - a review on the internet that was fairly scathing. But, I had just read my Book group 'home work' and so it was Stephanie's turn!
I found I enjoyed the book. I like 'detective' novels and so I was interested to see who would turn out to be the villain - and although there were several likely suspects as I find that it so often the case with major writers eg Ruth Rendell, Doroth L Sayer and the like I did not find this to be a problem.
We were left with wondering whether the two people in the know would eventually be hunted out by the boys in blue but otherwise fairly neatly concluded and a good read - in my opinion!
I just read this one. It's not on the top of my list.
I'd rather Stephanie just solved the mystery and came to make the discoveries about her lover - the plot was too convoluted and brought in too many other angles. JMO.

"The coroner did not want to bring in a verdict of suicide. But was the coroner right ? Stephanie is the gripping tale of a carefree student, happy until she discovers her lover leads a double life. Her father who'd fight for justice, even if it cost him his life...."
