RE: 27. Woman in the Mirror - 1975

I just read this in one Sunday.

It was pretty absorbing and a real page turner, with a lot of twists and turns.

It takes place in the Welsh countryside.  There is a background mystery and a plucky heroine to unfold it.

Tedn right.  Tedn proper.  Tedn just.  Tedn British!

27. Woman in the Mirror - 1975

"Distinctly superior atmospheric suspense story." - Observer.

"Fit for Hitchcock's direction: not to be read late at night, and even in broad daylight its climaxes make the hair on the nape of the neck ripple." - Times.

"Norah has been in the Syme household several days before she learns of her close resemblance to her employer's niece, Marion Syme -  drowned seven years ago at sea. But even before this discovery, Norah imagines she feels a haunting presence in Morb House, especially at night in her attic suite where a rocking horse rocks in an empty room. Is there really something to be afraid of lurking in the shadows of the half-deserted house - or is it something even more sinister, in the psyche of someone who lives there ?"
