Wonderful ! And a very warm welcome indeed Tim !

Really pleased you've got in touch as we were just beginning to wonder where all the professionals had gone ! I'm also absolutely sure all our members and numerous visitors from ALL around the world would really love to hear your ‘good times’ stories and memorable 'front-line' experiences. Right down to the tiniest detail ! Also those of your sound recordist colleague as well, any chance of him or her joining in soon ? And any idea where some of the others might now be or how best to try and contact them, or did you lose touch soon after the filming was over ?

Loads of questions but just a short few for now ! Any general thoughts and ideas about a new series ? Continue where the old BBC ones left off or a completely fresh start ? All filmed in Cornwall with as many outdoor scenes as possible ? Were you involved in all 29 episodes ? Did you ever chat to Winston ? Would you personally like to do another series if it ever comes off ? And how much easier would it be these days with the benefit of all the new technologies ?

And a very interesting question and part of a long thread that appeared on another forum on here recently. Do you know roughly how much of the original 70's series were edited out in the re-issued BBC's 90's videos as several members have said they'd noticed quite a lot of scenes were missing.... In other words any idea how much shorter the BBC's 90's videos are from the original 35mm film ?

Hopefully we'll also have a notice appearing in Equity's Christmas magazine as we're hoping to hear from as many of the actors as possible as well, so it should soon really be like old times !

Again many thanks for getting in touch and hope you’ll very soon be meeting up and enjoying long chats with everyone else from those golden days. It’ll be fascinating all round !

Best wishes

Ross P.

My name is Tim Johnson and I am replying to a request in BECTU journal for contact to be made by those who worked on the original Poldark series in the 70s.

I was camera operator and I am in contact with the principal sound recordist.

They were good times!

Welcome to the Winston Graham and Poldark Literary Society Forums !

The Society is most keen to trace and hear from soonest as many actors and extras as possible who appeared in or were involved in any of the original Poldark BBC TV shoots and scenes during the seventies.

In the event that a continuation or a completely new series can be produced, this sub-forum has been created in which everyone from those nostalgic days are invited not only to meet up once again to share their past interesting experiences and memories, but to offer any thoughts and ideas they might have on the creation of another series as well.

If you would like to post a message, please first register to join the main Forum by clicking on the “New Member” box in the top right hand corner. However please remember that it will still NOT be possible to post any messages onto the Forum UNTIL you’ve first clicked on the automatic reply sent by return to your e-mail address. Finally enter your name and password into the “Members Login” box.

You then have the following options….

1. Posting straight into this sub-forum “An Introduction Forum for all involved in the original BBC TV Poldark series.”

2. Creating and posting into a new mini-forum specifically for yourself. Please click on “Poldark – The Actors & Former Players” which is located immediately above the blue horizontal bar at the top of this sub-forum, then scroll to the very bottom of the page.

3. Viewing the Society’s whole Forum page :
