The way the new series has developed the romance between Demelza and Ross (take, for instance, the "Pray I do not lose the love of my life" comment made to Elizabeth when she is by Demelza's bedside as she fights for her life against the putrid throat) I think it's going to be VERY difficult for some to handle what's coming. (For instance, me) Given screenplay re-writes from the original novel you begin to believe that the adaptation may skip this upcoming impulsive act by Ross.
I know that act drives a main theme in future novels, so it can't be written out for the TV version, but it's going to be hard to take. But maybe that's the kind of raw emotion the screenwriter want to draw out of us.
Because I love the way Tomlinson is playing Demelza, I really hope the screenwriters can leave out the whole Hugh Armitage thing. I think it can be left out and not ruin things, but maybe some of you much more advance readers can tell me why I'd be wrong on that account?
