Hello and a warm welcome to you Offerashillin, I'm sure you'll have fun being a part of our little forum.  Hope you enjoy reading the books again and immersing yourself back into the Poldark once more. smile

Welcome to the group, Offerashillin.  Love the name!  Takes me back to when Ross was trying to leave Demelza a short distance from Illugan - and she was having none of it!

Welcome to this group! Im new here myself. and the more i read Winston Graham, the more i like the series! just ordered a book written by his wife, Poldark cookery book, and Poldarks cornwall.

Since i have historical reenactment as a hobby, (War of 1812) and am an american,I am hoping the poldark cookbook will give me some period recipies to try either over a campfire or hearth! Love cast iron cooking!!!

I have to admit that Demelza is my favorite! Was there any background as how the war for american independence shaped Ross' attitude toward the working class?

Hi everyone, I first became a fan of Poldark at 12 years old when seeing the re-runs on UK Gold in 2001/2002. My Mum had been an original fan in the 70's and persuaded me to watch them and I've loved it ever since. After that I read all the books including Making Poldark and learnt the entire script of the show! I'm currently an aspiring actress/writer and the recent death of Angharad Rees has reminded me of a childhood inspiration now gone and made me a fan all over again (I still know most of the script). I've just bought all of the books and the DVD's again and would love to chat to you lovely people about it all as you all understand the fandom..... biggrin
