Are you fortunate enough to have the first editions of Ross Poldark and Demelza, Sabrina?  In them, there is quite a bit more detail about the Martin family and the 'courting' of Jinny and Jim.

This is a bit off-topic, but there is also much more about Keren and Mark Daniel in the first ed. too.  It is well worth seeking out these scarce books - I was lucky enough to get one at a jumble sale!

Yes, I am fortunate enough to have them, and have read them recently.  Yes, I loved the courtship scenes with Jim & Jinny and also Karen & Mark.  Very beautiful.

I bought mine from Amazon.com
