Thank you for your welcomes. I really feel bad when I think that I missed the series on TV, I'm assuming they were on here in the US. At that time, the late 70's, I had 5 children in their teens and they were not happy about it (and need I say that I was not either!) Anyway, I don't think I had much time to just relax and watch what I wanted, and with only one TV, the husband pretty much decided what we would watch. But I'm happy to hear that the quality of the film may be better on DVD than it is on You Tube. Many times I have not been sure of what I am seeing because the light is so poor, or it may be these old eyes! I think I will look further into getting the DVDs for my birthday...there's an idea!

Hi! I discovered Poldark when I was 12 on Masterpiece Theater...well, actually my mom discovered it and told me about it. It shortly became a family treat on Sundays and thereafter when it was rebroadcast a few years later. However, I am on the only one who read all the books and kept up with Books after The Angry Tide.

Ye're never too ol' for Poldark!

Hi Doobee

How exciting that you have discovered Poldark....it doesn't matter what age you be....we are the lucky ones who have read this lovely story......I am sure other Poldark fans will agree with me, but it is sad sometimes to think that such a beautiful written story has been undiscovered by so many. Frustrating almost.  I am currently re-reading, and I too am on the Black Moon....

I would treat yourself to the vhs or cd if you can afford it, cos trust me, you will want to re-watch, and the quality of Poldark on You Tube is poor.....

Welcome to the Forum, it is lovely to have you on board :)

Hello. Introducing myself. I will be 74 next week and am ashamed to say that I had never heard of Poldark or Winston Graham and I always considered myself a well-read person! How did it happen that I was so clueless? Oh well, I am deep into Poldark now.  I am watching the episodes on You Tube and can hardly tear myself away, but am limiting myself to one episode a day. I am now reading the fifth Poldark, The Black Moon.  Hope to "see" you all.

Doobee
