IMPORTANT NOTICE & BOARD RULES
New Members. In order to avoid deliberate nuisance applications and spam, it would be very much appreciated if you would kindly give one or two short reasons for wishing to join The Winston Graham & Poldark Literary Society's Forum in the above "Biography" message box. If left blank it will unfortunately have to be automatically rejected. We sincerely apologise for this inconvenience but do hope you understand.
Please note that new members are always manually approved, however as this process relies entirely on volunteers, approval is usually given within 24 hours though at certain times of the year it can take longer.
Finally please also note that continued membership of this Forum automatically means that you have read and agree to comply with the Board Rules below. Please re-read them regularly as the Administration reserves the option to revise them as and when necessary.
The Winston Graham & Poldark Literary Society Forum
The Winston Graham & Poldark Literary Society Forum is intended to provide an atmosphere of open and friendly communication, where each member can share his or her own thoughts and opinions freely and without hindrance regarding all of Winston Graham's works alone. For this reason please note that the Society does not accept fanfiction in any form, for example a story or poem, whatsoever. In addition please remember that many visitors to the forum do not have English as their mother tongue, therefore shortened 'txt' speak is not permitted. Finally we ask that you:
Do not post libelous or illegal material.
Do not post harassing, inflammatory or discriminatory comments based on politics, religion, race, ethnic origin, gender, or sexual orientation.
Do not solicit or advertise.
If you have questions or comments about this Forum (such as technical difficulties or performance issues), please contact the Forum Administrators for the appropriate channel for your enquiry.
Forum Moderators
As a Literary Society one of our most important Rules is to seek to constantly foster and permanently maintain high standards of courtesy and behaviour between all members, and officially appointed Moderators among other roles are there to ensure that our Forum will always remain a friendly and enjoyable place in which to participate.
Inevitably lack of respect or contempt for such Rules quickly risks subjugating quieter and more restrained members in favour of those who for example choose to break them simply to win arguments or silence members with their opposing views. This immediately risks turning the Forum into a one member's platform for their views only which obviously the Society cannot and will not tolerate.
Consequently any member or members who ignore, dispute or deliberately flout the "Final Decision(s)" of any Moderator will find themselves instantly subject to either a temporary or permanent ban. No prior warnings will be given. Finally a banned member cannot re-register under a new name and anyone attempting this who is caught at any time will earn a permanent IP address ban.
Moderation
Any post that violates the above conditions or departs from the intended purpose of this Forum may be removed without notice by the Administration.
We reserve the right to edit or delete any posts for reasons including, but not limited to: swearing, bad language, length, subject matter etc. whether written or on film deemed irrelevant or inappropriate to the content and topics of this Forum. Above all where younger visitors are concerned.
Older threads or messages may be removed from time to time to maintain categories or threads of manageable length.
Any member who breaches these Guidelines through hostile, abusive or other inappropriate behaviour may find their account privileges revoked.
Privacy
Please always bear in mind that because this is a public Forum you have no guarantee or expectation of privacy, as your post could be read by anyone.
Posts can be traced. We record information about every user of this Forum, and will honour any court orders or requests by recognized law authorities worldwide for information about individuals posting libelous material.
All communications on this Board are deemed to be public and not private communications. We also reserve the right to remove without notice any message(s) posted for any reason.
Regarding your email address and other personal information
Although we require your email address for verification purposes, we most strongly advise and recommend that you never ever post it or any other personal information such as phone numbers or your home address. Your posts can be searched by bots or third parties that have no affiliation with the Administrator of this Forum.
Disclaimer
The views expressed by members of this Forum are entirely their own and do not reflect the position of the Administrator, the Moderators, all other members or the "Winston Graham and Poldark Literary Society". Each member therefore remains solely responsible at all times for the content of each of their postings.
Please report any activity that you notice which is libelous, inflammatory, or in violation of common decency to the moderators or administration immediately.
