I have just listened to the Desert Island Discs archive of Winston Graham. Not a programme where anything new is revealed, but interesting to hear his voice. It is noticeable how much the radio series has evolved since 1977, where much longer music clips are played and there is little probing beneat...

Re-reading for the third time but much more slowly Winston's hardback autobiography, I found this interesting quote on page 20 about his meeting when thirteen a girl called Amy Warwick in Morecambe which took him five years to get over. "I think it was Edith Wharton who wrote somewhere: 'One good hea...

I visited perranporth last week and found, after a bit of difficulty, the memorial seat. Its on the coastal path heading towards Newquay from Perranporth. It has a glorious view but could be easily missed as its a marble bench and amongst the grass and flowers. I have attached some photographs.

Winston Graham comments: "I look on myself simply as a novelist. I have written - always - what I wanted to write and not what I thought people might want me to write. Reading for me has always been in the first place a matter of enjoyment - otherwise I don't read - and therefore I would expect other pe...

I asked a member of the church about this and we had to look through the graveyard plan to be absolutely sure h...
